Description
With a very complicated floor plate, Kohler needed office facility for Kohler’s engineering arm that designs Engines and Turbines.
‘Engineering gears’ as one of the quintessential elements of engineering became source of inspirations that allowed defining the design Vocabulary and conceptualizing the aspired essence of the office. Life of an individual deals with chaotic suburbia as part of his/her everyday routine, therefore the office space is envisaged to be an oasis of “CALM”.
Geometry of “Bevel gear” allowed us to develop our planning and spatial geometry which helped bind the entire workspace. Apart from the planning these axes establishes the ceiling geometry & the partitions of the cabin resembling the saw tooth of a “Gear”. The Work stations being perpendicular to the curvilinear glass enabled us to get diffused light in the work station area that is glare free and also reduced the cost of artificial light, in keeping with best practices of ‘Sustainable design’.
Results not only created a sensitive work space that reflects the ‘Brand Aspiration’ of Kohler but also thus provides a motivating work space.
