Description
“Heart of the city”: A vibrant city centre for Navi Mumbai that embodies the international planning standards of today to create a truly sustainable mixed use urban environment to live, work and play.
The masterplan focuses on integral approach to planning and design and extensive mixture of commercial, civic and leisure facilities with a substantial residential component that makes Kharghar Corporate Park as a “destination” for people from all over Navi Mumbai and beyond. The green network along the diagonal axis through the master plan is a unique differentiator combining pedestrian movement, landmarks, vistas, landscape elements and creating an intuitive connection from the established green lungs in Kharghar.
Sustainability is an integral part of the design, incorporated through smart planning and furthered by the urban design guidelines.
The adjacency of the Corporate Park to the landscaped Central Park and the Golf Course and the natural hills and the creek makes for a picturesque setting which can only be enhanced by continuing that experience of a green spine through the proposed development. Though an independent development of 140 ha, it is essential to integrate the urban fabric of the Corporate Park proposed and the existing neighbourhood. The Metro Station and the pedestrian green spine coincide to create the heart of the development, and a vibrant, 24x7 core. A strong focus is on the following three main Planning Principles:
1. Kharghar Corporate Park will be planned as a Transit Oriented Development
2. Kharghar Corporate Park will be planned as a Pedestrian Friendly Development;
3. Kharghar Corporate Park will be planned as a Smart & Sustainable Development
